I Collect Light Bulbs
LEDs
and flashlights.
I gather them and chain them together
across my ceiling
like tropical fruit. A tree of light.

Long ago I'd sit in darkness.
And with the push of a button,
Each lamp flickered on in
a righteous, white monsoon.

Now the light tree bleeds no more.
And I can’t regain that feeling
of monsoon.
